Women triumph!

This article in Italy's "La Repubblica" newspaper has a lovely re-cap of some of the election outcomes they found most interesting. The headline celebrates the triumph of American women in this mid-term bonanza, with Nancy closer to the presidency than any woman has ever been (barring some First Ladies) and Hillary sweeping her way to a second term.

Of course, Italians would never leave out any possible news of a Kennedy, passing as Ted's race may have been. This is also the first mention of Keith Ellison I've noticed ("il primo musulmano al Congresso", the first Muslim in Congress), and Arnold Schwarzenegger gets his special "sequel" credit.

Particularly pleasant are their generosity with Clinton's margin and their reference to Nancy Pelosi as "Madam Speaker".
